Chris Schieman Media has entered into a deal to provide broadcasting commentary for the majority of Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers Men’s and Women’s Basketball home games, starting with the 2024-25 season. This will mark the first time that Pioneers basketball has professional commentary on its home games. I’m exciting to be working with SMC as the Pioneers embark on the first season in the NAIA! Anyone who knows small college athletics understands the history behind NAIA hoops. I look forward to working with the Pioneers as they launch their own chapter in that history.
This year, CSM will provide commentary on all but 4 home games for Pioneers basketball. The basketball season starts with a couple of NAIA foes, right out of the gate. On October 26, the women host NAIA Reinhardt, and the men battle Montreat, one of 5 double headers I’ll cover this season. Other live stream highlights include the Men facing Bluefield to kick off the new year, January 2, and the Women facing NAIA Tournament participant Brewton on November 23, although that game will be video only.
The first senior nights in SMC basketball history take place Thursday, February 20th for the women, and Monday, February 24th for the men.
